I've been asked about the sash/belt/broach that is on my dress. No, it did not come with the dress. It is something that a lot of brides do to "add a little something" to their dresses... but I really didn't know that until I started working at Solutions Bridal. Once I started seeing how it can really change the look of a more simple dress, I decided I wanted it for myself. The story is kinda funny actually...
I had been eyeing one of the broaches at Solutions, so one day I bought it on a whim and brought it home. I wanted to play with it to see if it would work on my dress. When I got home, I didn't have a stash of sashes to try it on with as I had in the store. I ran into my guest bedroom, which was at the time deemed the wedding mess, and grabbed a piece of white ribbon that came off of a Macy's package that we had received from our wedding registry. I loved the broach and sash combo with my dress and the ribbon went really well too (but was a little cheap looking/feeling). I went to Hobby Lobby and got a nicer double-faced satin ribbon to be sewn onto my dress. However, when I went to my seamstress to have it sewn on... it didn't match nearly as well, so we ended up using the Macy's ribbon!

A very unique idea, I love it. Your pictures are so beautiful!
You look so beautiful! I love your dress, you really made it special with the belt. You mentioned you had a 2 hour gap to take pictures between ceremony & reception. We have a gap too due to church wedding & country club reception...did you tell your guests what they were suppose to do in that time, or were they fine with finding something on their own?
